The parents of a junior doctor who was allegedly raped and murdered last month at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata have serious allegations against the local police for trying to tamper with the evidence. The father of the trainee doctor was anxious and said, “Police have attempted to delete evidence from the very first moment. If only they had wished to cooperate, we could have achieved justice. ”
The unfortunate event has led to protests all across India, indicating and expressing concern for the safety of women in India. Its dead body, which bore severe injury marks, was found in the seminar hall of the chest department of the hospital on 9th August. After that revelation, a civic volunteer was arrested by Kolkata Police for the said case.
Remembering the painful loss, the mother of the trainee doctor said:
“She has always wanted to be a doctor ever since she was a child. And in the end, when she looked for her mother and asked for help, we could not. ”
The family has faith in the CBI and wishes for a fair trial. The suspects, they said, have always expressed their dissatisfaction concerning the state police handling the case and offered condemnation to the Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
On the other hand, the Premier Supreme Court has set its date to hear the case in 9 ^{} September 2012. A bench presided by Chief Justice D. Y. Chandrachud will hear that, which the court took on its own motion.
