Pawan Kalyan responds to Karthi’s apology over Tirupati Laddu row

Pawan Kalyan reacted to the latest apology voiced by Karthi over the controversy that emerged about Tirupati Laddu. During his recent visit to Tirumala, Karthi apologized on camera for laughing away when the media asked him questions over the allegations of using animal fat in the making of ‘laddus’ at Sri Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati. In a message via X, the Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister acknowledged the apology voiced by Karthi and explained why he reacted to the issue initially.

Dear @Karthi_Offl Garu, I highly appreciate your nice gesture and immediate response, not to mention the respect you have shown toward our common traditions. Issues relating to our sacred institutions, such as Tirupati and its divine prasadam laddus, are emotionally close to the hearts of crores of devotees, and it’s our responsibility to handle such issues with caution, Pawan Kalyan tweeted.

He reiterated the need for public figures to encourage unity and respect, especially regarding cultural and spiritual values.

“I understand the situation was unintentional, and our responsibility is to uplift these values while continuing to inspire through cinema. I admire you as a remarkable actor whose dedication and talent have always enriched our industry,”

He added.

The controversy first broke out on September 18, when Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu accused animal fat was used to prepare Tirupati laddus during the previous regime headed by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The latter’s party, the YSRCP, hit back, calling the charges “heinous allegations” for political gain. Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh, son of Naidu, added that lab reports had confirmed beef fat, fish oil, and lard used in the laddus.
