In a bold move, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar has set his sights on reclaiming control of Maharashtra in the upcoming state assembly elections. Addressing party workers in Baramati, Pawar expressed confidence in the NCP’s ability to secure victory, building on the party’s impressive performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls.
Under Pawar’s leadership, the NCP had managed to win eight out of the ten Lok Sabha seats it contested in Maharashtra, showcasing the party’s growing strength in the state. Pawar’s daughter, Supriya Sule, also retained the Baramati seat, defeating her cousin Ajit Pawar’s wife in a high-profile family battle.
Pawar, a seasoned politician with extensive experience as Chief Minister, Union Agriculture Minister, and Defence Minister, emphasized the importance of the people’s collective power in achieving the party’s goals. He acknowledged the party’s preparedness for the state assembly elections, scheduled to be held in the next three to four months.
“In the next three to four months, state elections occur. Come what may, I will endeavor to take control of Maharashtra. We must win the assembly polls to achieve this,”
Pawar declared.
As the state assembly elections draw near, Pawar’s bold statements and the NCP’s recent electoral success have set the stage for a high-stakes battle for control of Maharashtra, with the veteran leader determined to reclaim the state’s political landscape.
