Speaking after the inauguration of the Z-Morh Tunnel, PM Modi said that the tunnel will ensure Sonamarg’s connectivity during winter, giving “new wings” to tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, after inaugurating the Z-Morh Tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir, said that his government fulfils its promises. He added that the tunnel’s construction started in 2015, during his government’s first tenure, and was completed in his third tenure.
“The actual construction work of Sonamarg Tunnel started only in 2015 after our government was formed at the Centre. I am happy that the work of this tunnel has been completed during our government,” PM Modi said while addressing a rally after the inauguration of the Z-Morh Tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir.
In his address, PM Modi said that his government’s hard work had changed the situation in the Valley, and now “people are going to Lal Chowk to eat ice cream at night.”
“Today, people are going to Lal Chowk to eat ice cream at night, and my artist friends from Kashmir have made Polo View Market a new habitat center. In Srinagar, people visit the cinema hall with their children and watch movies. No government can do so many things to change the situation.
A few months ago, an international marathon was held for the first time in Srinagar,” PM Modi said. The Chief Minister also participated in the marathon. Its video also went viral; I especially liked it when I met him in Delhi. This is a new era of new Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
The prime minister further said that Jammu and Kashmir are the country’s crowns and that he wants them to be beautiful and prosperous. There is an atmosphere of peace in Jammu and Kashmir, and we have seen its effect on tourism. Kashmir is writing a new saga of development today,” he said. PM Modi also paid tributes to seven people, including a local doctor, who lost their lives in a terror attack on tunnel construction workers last year.
