During an election rally held in Anand for Gujarat state, Narendra Modi, the prime minister, was quite friendly with his rival, Rahul Gandhi. He criticized him for his allegiance to Pakistan and the desire of the nation to see Him as the Prime Minister of India.
In his speeches, Modi defined Gandhi as “Shehzada” (beggar lingo for prince) and Congress as Pakistani wala (following other countries). This was in the context of an interview Former Pakistani Minister Chaudhry Fawad Hussain had given where he tried to appreciate Rahul Gandhi.
Modi said that for 60 years, the Congress ruling was awful compared to the 10 years of service of BJP he added. He argued that the BJP achieved a 40% increase in toilet utilization among the rural population in those 10 years where it was only 60% during the Congress period.
Modi went a step further with the claim that Congress had a hidden plan to amend the Constitution, giving reservation based on religious affiliation, Muslims in particular and demanded the latter put the state on record of its assurance to the contrary in writing.
Referring to the lack of self-evaluation by the Congress, the BJP supplied tap water to 14 crore households during the last 1 decade compared to the 3 crore by the Congress in 60 years. He outlined how he saw an established India in the 100th year of the country’s Independence, that is, the year 2047.
The incumbent Prime Minister’s campaign rally speech consisted of three main elements: political rivalries, achievements, and future aspirations, which are vital things that every political candidate should address to his audience.
