PM Modi advises ‘whole of government’ approach on hoax bomb threats

The wave of bomb threats targeting key Indian airlines continued unabated yesterday, with over 85 flights receiving fresh threats within 24 hours.

According to the latest tally, the threats were directed at 20 flights from Air India, 20 from Indogo, 20 from Vistara, and another 25 from Akasa Airlines.

Within little more than a week, over 170 flights operated by Indian carriers have received bomb threats. The Central government has plans to undertake wide-ranging legislative actions to deal with bomb threats to airlines, including placing the perpetrators on the no-fly list.
