PM Modi confident of BJP’s success in West Bengal Lok Sabha elections

PM Modi expresses confidence over BJP’s success in West Bengal polls.

Ahead of the final phase of Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed confidence about BJP’s performance in West Bengal. In an interview with ANI, he said the BJP will emerge as the biggest gainer in the state. Referring to the party’s growth in West Bengal after winning 3 seats in the Assembly to 80, the PM said people have been supporting the BJP overwhelmingly.

He termed the polls one-sided, with the public backing the BJP. Taking a dig at TMC, PM Modi said the ruling party is fighting for survival, and its leaders are frustrated. He highlighted attacks on BJP workers in the state and people voting despite violence.

PM slammed the TMC government over Calcutta HC’s decision to cancel post-2010 OBC certificates in Bengal. He accused Congress of duplicity over religion-based reservation contravening the Constitution.

Attacking Mamata Banerjee’s refusal to accept the HC verdict, PM Modi said judiciary abuse for politics is unfortunate. Claiming TMC introduced a religious factor for OBC quotas through a law, he said the party indulged in fraud and is now targeting courts.

The final phase, which begins June 1, involves 57 constituencies in 8 states/UTs. Results will be declared on June 4. PM Modi expressed confidence that the BJP would gain the most in the Bengal polls.
