In a befitting gesture for a prolific writer and veteran leader of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched three books on Sunday, including a compilation on the Life and Times of the former Vice President of India, M. Venkaiah Naidu. The function was organized before Naidu’s 75th birthday celebrations, and many dignitaries and other personalities were present.
The books Venkaiah Naidu—Life in Service,” Celebrating Bharat—The Mission and Message of Shri M Venkaiah Naidu as 13th Vice President of India,” and a photo chronicle in Telugu provide a complete idea of his glorious journey.
Speaking to the audience, PM Modi was lavish in his words for Naidu, to whom life has been a saga of accomplishments. The Prime Minister also described Naidu’s endurance and bravery, which must have been suffered during the political emergency 1975.
Describing his experience with Naidu as the Rajya Sabha Chairperson, Modi said he behaved well and sternly during the scrapping of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
While responding to this, Naidu thanked him and then warned him about the issue of freebies. He said that development and welfare should be pursued simultaneously, and the country requires skill development.
It is also worth noting that publishing these books is a historical testimony of Venkaiah Naidu’s imprint on the nation’s political sky and for future generations.
