PM Modi slams Congress, defends Amit Shah over Ambedkar remarks

While taking a swipe at the Opposition, Amit Shah said, “Abhi ek fashion ho gaya hai – Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar.”

PM Narendra Modi attacked the Congress after the party cornered Union Home Minister Amit Shah over his “fashion” remarks on BR Ambedkar. INDIA bloc MPs, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, staged a protest in Parliament premises holding images of B R Ambedkar a day after the Home Minister’s remarks on him. The Opposition alliance demanded Shah’s apology as they lined up before the steps of the Makar Dwar of Parliament.

“If the Congress and its rotten ecosystem think their malicious lies can hide their misdeeds of several years, especially their insult towards Dr. Ambedkar, they are gravely mistaken! The people of India have seen time and again how one Party, led by one dynasty, has indulged in every possible dirty trick to obliterate the legacy of Dr. Ambedkar and humiliate the SC/ST communities,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

If Congress and its rotten ecosystem think their malicious lies can hide their misdeeds of several years, especially their insult towards Dr. Ambedkar, they are gravely mistaken!

While taking a swipe at the Opposition, Shah had said, “Abhi ek fashion ho gaya hai – Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar. Itna naam agar bhagwan ka lete to saat janmon tak swarg mil jata (It has become a fashion to say Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar, Ambedkar’. If they had taken God’s name so many times, they would have got a place in heaven).

Congress alleged the remarks reflect that the BJP and the RSS leaders have “a lot of hatred” for Ambedkar and demanded that he tender an apology. Rahul Gandhi, former Congress chief, said those who believe in Manusmriti will be at loggerheads with Ambedkar.
