PM Modi urges NDA MPs to uphold parliamentary decorum amidst Rahul Gandhi’s criticism

PM Modi advises Parliamentary decorum to NDA members.

Days after a ruckus in Lok Sabha over Rahul Gandhi’s speech, PM Modi addressed NDA MPs today. He emphasized rules, maintaining democratic traditions, and exemplary conduct in the House.

In the meeting, NDA members congratulated the PM for his third term and assured support. Briefing media, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the PM’s message centered on prioritizing service through MPs.

He urged following rules while raising issues of constituencies and nation, as per the Minister. PM stated maintaining systems, order, and behavior as per parliamentary yardsticks.

Rijiju added all NDA MPs will adhere to the PM’s guidance. In an apparent reference to Gandhi’s conduct, he said disrespecting the Speaker is unacceptable.

Asked about the Congress leader’s remarks that triggered the Opposition-Treasury face-off, the Minister stated the agenda was fostering coordination not addressing it.

The PM will also reply to the Motion of Thanks debate in Lok Sabha today. With elections over, the focus appears to have shifted towards the functioning of democratic mechanisms in parliamentary set-up.
