Former Jalandhar resident Zeeshan Akhtar Mohd. Yasin Akhtar was among those arrested last year by the Punjab Police in 2022.

Baba Siddique politician murder case: Probe reveals Bishnoi gang link as cops hunt for duo on run, one has gangster associate in police records.

Zeeshan Akhtar’s name has emerged during further probe into Baba Siddiqui’s murder. He is described as the handler who hired the three shooters- Dharmaraj Kashyap, Gurmail Baljit Singh, and Shivakumar Gautam.

Kashyap and Singh were arrested hours after they had shot Siddiqui outside his son’s office in Bandra on Saturday night.

A member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for this attack, citing the political leader was in close proximity to actor Salman Khan, whom they have had on their hit list over the 1998 Blackbuck case.

A police dossier finally revealed another shocking fact—he is no less than Mohammad Yasin Akhtar, a resident of Jalandhar. He was arrested by the Punjab Police in 2022.

He boasts about nearly two dozen members in his gang and brands himself the “Zulmi of Crime World.”

He had an extortion case for ₹ 30 lakh pending against him in Sadar Police Station in Jalandhar — among at least seven criminal cases against him.

Zeeshan had fired two bullets during one of his extortion attempts at the target. Two pistols – 0.30 and 0.32 bore – were also there in the police records that he used to commit the crime.

The records showed that he was in contact with jailbird Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother Anmol through a “special app.” Zeeshan had also contacted two Dera followers in Punjab at the behest of Vikram Brar, Lawrence Bishnoi’s close associate.

According to sources, Zeeshan met Gurmail in Patiala Jail, where he convinced him to join the Bishnoi gang. Out of the three accused, Gurmail is the only shooter and has known criminal records.
