Priyanka won the Wayanad Lok Sabha bypoll with a thumping margin of over four lakh votes, which surpassed her brother Rahul Gandhi’s victory margin in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls in her electoral debut.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will take oath as the MP from Wayanad Lok Sabha Seat on November 28 (Thursday), her husband Robert Vadra said, after Congress leaders from the seat handed over the election certificate to her.
Thanking the people of Wayaand, Vadra said, “It’s a very happy time. People were waiting for this time that Priyanka should be in Parliament. She will be taking oath (as Lok Sabha MP) tomorrow.
She will be part of the Parliament, which is overdue. She will take up all the issues that people desire. I am very thankful to the people of Wayanad for making her win with a great margin.”
“In Parliament, she will bring up everything the ruling party doesn’t want to discuss. There is unemployment, women’s safety, farmers’ issues and all other issues need to be talked about,” he said.
