Priyanka Gandhi attacks PM Modi over Prajwal Revanna sex scandal.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra leveled fresh allegations against PM Modi regarding the Prajwal Revanna sex scandal. Addressing a rally in Assam, she claimed the PM did not stop the JD(S) MP from leaving India despite the serious allegations against him.
“The accused slipped out under the Centre’s nose after such a grave offense,” she stated. This is not the first time Priyanka has targeted Modi over the issue. Earlier, she had questioned his silence and sought the Home Minister’s response.
Union Minister Amit Shah had hit back at the Congress, asking why the then government did not act against Revanna.
Revanna, grandson of former PM HD Deve Gowda, is facing charges of abusing thousands of women after explicit videos surfaced. Karnataka police have formed a SIT to probe the allegations.
Priyanka also attacked Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, alleging his previous party had serious charges against him that were waived after he switched to the BJP.
Observers say Congress is aggressively raising the scandal to put the BJP government at the Centre on the back foot over law and order and women’s safety issues.
