Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been vocal about raising her voice against the Israeli crackdown on Gaza and expressing solidarity with the Palestinians.
Carrying a bag to Parliament that had “Palestine” emblazoned on it, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra showed her support for the people of the conflict-hit region.
Vadra was seen carrying a handbag emblazoned with the word “Palestine” and Palestinian emblems, including a watermelon, which was seen as a symbol of Palestinian solidarity.
Congress Spokesperson Dr. Shama Mohammed shared a photo of Vadra showing her bag and said, “Smt. @priyankagandhi Ji shows her solidarity with Palestine by carrying a special bag that symbolizes her support. It is a gesture of compassion and commitment to justice and humanity! She is clear that nobody can violate the Geneva Convention.”
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has been raising her voice against the crackdown of Israel on Gaza and has expressed solidarity with the Palestinians.
PTI reports that Abed Elazig Abu Jazeer, Charge affairs of the Palestine Embassy in New Delhi, met with Vadra last week to congratulate the Congress leader on her election victory from Kerala’s Wayanad.
Gandhi had June attacked Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu for the “genocidal actions” of what she termed the Israeli government in Gaza, accusing him and his government of “barbarism.”
The remarks came after Netanyahu had defended Israel’s continued Gaza war in a speech before the US Congress. It is the moral responsibility of every right-thinking individual, including all those Israeli citizens who do not believe in hatred and violence and every government in the world, to condemn the genocidal actions of the Israeli government and force them to stop, she had posted on X.
