Protests were held in Noida and Ghaziabad, demanding that the central government take immediate steps to end the suffering of Hindus in Bangladesh.
Two protests took place on Sunday in Noida and Ghaziabad against the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. The protest included BJP leaders and other Hindu organizations.
The protest in Noida took place near the Iskcon Temple in Sector 33. MP Mahesh Sharma of Noida, senior leaders of Hindu organizations, and several sadhus and saints attended, urging the government to take decisive action.
BJP leader and Supreme Court lawyer Ashwini Upadhyay addressed the gathering at Ghaziabad and held human rights organizations responsible for not paying attention to the situation in Bangladesh.
Upadhyay, besides criticizing “hypocritical socialists” in India for “being silent on historical wrongs,” claimed that Yadavs, Patels, boatmen, and Kurmis lived in a specific region before the 15th century without any Muslim populations in those areas. He also claimed holy places revered by Hindus were now targeted.
The Hindu Samaj Raksha Samiti, who took part in the protest, blamed the Bangladesh government for becoming a silent spectator to the destruction of the Hindu community. They alleged that Hindus there live in miserable conditions without any support from the police or administrative authorities.
Protesters demanded concrete, effective steps by the President and the Government from international-level talks ensuring Hindu safety in Bangladesh along with the unconditional release of innocent and falsely imprisoned community members.
