Rahul Gandhi challenges PM Modi on reservation, pledges to increase quota

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to eliminate the 50% reservation cap, promising to surpass it if elected. At an election rally in Telangana, Gandhi accused PM Modi of opposing reservation and wanting to dismantle it. He urged PM Modi to clarify his stance and asserted that Congress intends to remove the 50% barrier.

Gandhi emphasized the importance of increasing reservation for marginalized communities such as OBCs, Dalits, and tribals. He claimed that the BJP and RSS seek to abolish the Constitution and reservation. Gandhi stated that Congress has pledged to rectify this disparity in its manifesto and ensure justice for these historically oppressed groups.

The Congress leader also criticized the BJP’s alleged plans to change the Constitution, warning that it would abolish reservation. He held PM Modi responsible for rising youth unemployment and promised Congress’ commitment to providing secure job opportunities for graduates.

Gandhi advocated for a caste census, highlighting the significant population of backward classes, Dalits, tribals, and minorities. He expressed concern over their underrepresentation in institutions and vowed to address this issue.

The rally showcased a battle of ideologies, with Congress aiming to protect the Constitution and the rights of the underprivileged, while the BJP and RSS face accusations of seeking to dismantle the reservation system and undermine the Constitution.
