Rahul Gandhi declares psychological victory over Modi

The leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, announced that the opposition INDIA bloc has psychologically vanquished Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a public meeting in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. He said Modi had lost confidence in himself, an aspect about which the Prime Minister would in the past say he is invincible and even compared to God.

Gandhi called Modi on the caste census issue, where the opposition’s constant demand has gathered even RSS voices. “He and I sit across from each other in Parliament, and he has lost all confidence,” Gandhi said, indicating that the INDIA bloc has now stood together against Modi.

He stressed the idea of solidarity among all citizens, especially the issues of farmers and workers. He also criticized the central government’s decision to reduce Jammu and Kashmir to a Union Territory, saying it denied the people their rights.

The subsequent Assembly elections for Jammu and Kashmir have been scheduled for September 18, September 25, and October 1, with results slated for October 8. The last assembly election in the region was conducted in 2014, after which the PDP formed a government in the state along with the BJP as its ally.
