Rahul Gandhi mingles with Delhiites during metro ride ahead of polls

Ever the unassuming and approachable Congressman, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi decided Thursday morning to take the Delhi Metro to the National Capital, converse with the common man, and post snippets of the journey on the social media site X that he uses.

Some of his other tweets include, “Met fellow passengers and asked how they were—Am glad that our attempt to build Metro in Delhi is finding itself so useful for transport,” and he shared some photographs of his travel by metro.

Emulating his colleague’s style and doing the job on the move, the Wayanad MP spoke about traffic concerns in the national capital on his way to the next telephonic press briefing with Kanhaiya Kumar, the party candidate from the North East Delhi constituency in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

This is part of the working class if we look at the problems that people have. The working class people are very much troubled by traffic jams, and that is why Kumar reacted in his reply to Gandhi regarding his plans when he is elected as a Member of Parliament.

It comes just a day before campaigning for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, two of which will be fought in Delhi on May 25th. The voters are to vote on May 25, while votes will be counted on June 4.

Being fully aware of the necessity to ensure people’s free quitting and entering from polling stations, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has agreed to hold the metro at 4 in the morning of the election day.

During the duration of 4 am to 6 am, the metro trains are planned to operate after 30 minutes on all the lines, and then further normal operations will continue,” these comments made by Anuj Dayal, the Principal Executive Director of Corporate Communications at DMRC.

On this decision the DMRC explained that this decision sought to solve the transportation issues of persons or poll duty, helping them get to their respective polling centers and perform their electoral mandate effectively.
