Rahul Gandhi visits US to strengthen India-US relations

The IOA president also welcomed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi when he arrived in the United States on Sunday to undertake a three-day trip to enhance India-America relations. He will have “substantive talks and positive discussions” with different stakeholders during his visit.

THANKING DALLAS INDIAN DIASPORA On his Twitter account, Gandhi said that he is truly delighted by the warm welcome he received from the Indian Diaspora and the members of the Indian Overseas Congress in Dallas. His tweets read,

“I am looking forward to hearing with you about how we can improve the relations between India and the USA. ”

The Congress party pointed to the Reception given to Mr Gandhi at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, where several supporters welcomed him with open arms. Speaking to The Hindu, Indian Overseas Congress chairperson Sam Pitroda said that Gandhi is not an official capacity visitor but will get chances to meet with different groups on Capitol Hill.

It entails press interactions at the National Press Club, a meeting with think tanks, and engagements at Georgetown University. This is his first trip to the US after he assumed the post of the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, where he will be engaged in activities in Washington, D.C., and Dallas between September 8 and September 10.
