Rahul Gandhi’s “Fire” remarks are countered by the PM with “Chun Chun Ke Saaf Kar Do…”

The war of words between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi continues to escalate. After Rahul had criticized the Modi government, saying it has set the economy on “fire,” PM Modi hit back with a sharp response in his signature style.

Addressing a rally in Jharkhand, PM Modi referred to Rahul’s comment and said, “Chun Chun Ke Saaf Kar Do,” which loosely translates to “sweep it all clean.” He said the country’s people are all set to sweep away those who have set the economy on fire through wrong policies during their rule.

In a more enthusiastic tone, the PM told the crowd that the time has come to give a befitting reply to such leaders. “Aapne desh ko aag laga di thi, ab chun chun ke saaf kar denge (You had set the country on fire, now we will sweep it all clean),” said PM Modi amid cheers from his supporters.

PM Modi does not want to miss any opportunity to counter Rahul Gandhi’s allegations point by point. With his trademark simple yet effective choice of words, the PM poked fun at Rahul and Congress and reinforced his message that people will vote them out for mismanaging the economy in previous regimes. The exchange of barbs between the two leaders will likely intensify further as elections near.
