Remains found in investigation of Bangladesh MP’s Kolkata murder

A new low in the tragedy emerged when the West Bengal Police said they had recovered what seem to be human remains by the shore of Bagjola canal in South 24 Parganas. This is a very significant event in the solving of the murder of 56-year-old Bangladesh MP Anwarul Azim Anar that occurred in May in Kolkata.

A senior officer of the West Bengal C.I.D narrated this, mentioning that the second accused, Siam Hussain, arrested on Sunday from Nepal, was instrumental in leading the police to this disclosure. Taking that point, the official said, ‘’Now we will do the post-mortem and DNA profiling”.

The search operation was carried out after the police investigation, which resulted in the arrest of the first suspect, Jihad Hawladar, 24. However, CID officials accused Hawladar of giving partial information, which forced the authorities to work harder to capture the criminals.

Anar, a three-term Awami League MP from the Jhenaidah-4 constituency of Khulna district in Bangladesh, disappeared into the thin air five days after she crossed over to Kolkata for treatment on May 13. He was finally given an official death by the Bangladeshi government on May 22, a date that sounded true when I heard it.

As reported by the police, Anar died of asphyxiation on May 13 in a flat located in the New Town of Kolkata. They attacked her intending to kill a group of Bangladeshi Illegal immigrants on the instruction of a Bangladeshi businessman residing in the U.S.A, Akhtaruzzaman Shahin. The accused are presumed to have thrown different parts of the body at different places in New Town and Bhangar.

The CID officer also stated that the daughter of the murdered MP is expected to travel to Kolkata next week to take a DNA test regarding the bodiless, which were identified from the recovered pieces.

This dark reality has raised the alarm in the region as police continue work on solving the murder case of a Bangladeshi legislator. The authorities show intention to identify all the facts of this act of terrorism they can.
