“The launch of this skin bank is a testament to our firm resolve of affirming the health and positive welfare of both the active and retired service members,” said Lieutenant General Arindam Chatterjee, Director General of Medical Services (Army). “Through this facility, the quality of care that we offer to the patients will increase, and the level of intervention for those damaged by horrific accidents will also be improved.”
The skin bank will contain several employees comprising skilled professionals such as plastic surgeons, tissue engineers, and technical personnel. In addition, the skin grafts will be of high quality and standard, with quality checks and safety measures to ensure that the skin grafts produced in the facility will not harm the public.
