Risk of military confrontation due to border deployment between China and India: US intelligence report

In the recent global threat assessment delivered by US intelligence agencies, the warm and friendly India-China border standoff is increasingly becoming a divisive issue that has strained bilateral ties.

The report mentioned a risk of actual conflict as a result of the deployment of large military forces on both parts by sides at the unresolved border.

The article mentions that sporadic faceoffs have been observed in the north of that region. In October 2020, the armed forces, with 50,000 troops on each side, faced the LAC.

The pace of the construction projects near the border has escalated in the process of the phase where we have been in war mode since May 2020, when China beat us.

The report suggests a weak potential for an Indo-Pak conflict if provocations persist, citing Gandhi, who said, “An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind” in a 1971 war.

“Dragon Teeth,” the magazine, identify bases in Sri Lanka and Pakistan to back its strategic overseas interests and project power.

The plan is to modernise all Chinese defence by 2035 and produce a world-class army by 2049. PLA is the core of that plan and is destined to assert regional supremacy.

The evaluation questions the diplomatic efforts and China’s multiple expansion projects in the region, including the expansion of its military power and cyber operations.
