In a shocking incident, a prominent freelance radio jockey from Jammu and Kashmir, RJ Simran, died by suicide, allegedly, in Gurugram. The 25-year-old, who has nearly 700,000 followers on Instagram, was found lying unconscious in her Sector 47 rented apartment.
Police said that a friend who was staying with Simran discovered her and called them up. She was taken to the hospital where she was declared dead on arrival. The police, however, said no suicide note was found and her family has not filed any complaints in connection with her death.
They said Simran had been depressed for some time, implying that this depression could be a reason for her death, but made it clear that she did not blame anybody.
Prolific among her fans as “Jammu Ki Dhadkan”, Simran had last shared a reel on December 13 on her Instagram account which read, “Just a girl with innumerable giggles and her gown, taking over the beach.” Later, the body was handed over to the family for performing the last rites.
