RJD announces Bihar candidates for Lok Sabha elections

RJD has proposed its candidature separately for just one seat in the coming Lok Sabha elections in Bihar. Mr. Lalu’s daughters, Rohini Acharia and Misabharti, are part of the opposition alliance led by Mr. Lalu’s party as candidates.

Rohini Acharya is the woman in the fight from the seat of Saran that her father has won time and again in the assembly. Lalu Prasad Yadav’s disqualification from 2013 after his Bihar fodder scam sentence was given employing his seat. Going into her second term in Rajya Sabha, Misa Bharti may now try her hand in the Patliputra Lok Sabha constituency.

The party has not yet nominated any candidacy for the Siwan seat. It was before Shahabuddin got killed who was the former candidate in the previous elections. As a result of the disqualification, there was no chance of Heena, the wife surviving after the loss. As per reports, Heena has been bureaucratised by the family collectively headed by Lalu Yadav.

The seat-sharing formula within the Grand Alliance, Mahagathbandhan, means that the RJD will contest 26 seats out of the 40 constituencies allotted in Bihar, while Congress and Left Parties are given nine and five seats, respectively.

The Lok Sabha elections are held in these lengthy days of Bihar elections, which are about six weeks apart.
