Scindia slams Congress, compares party’s seats to BJP’s 2024 tally

Targeting the Congress party, the Union Minister of the ruling BJP, Jyotiraditya Scindia equated the performance of the Congress party in the recent Assembly elections with BJP. These remarks by Scindia came during the 18th Lok Sabha sitting, where the Opposition disrupted the House with different matters of concern.

Speaking to the media, Scindia declared that the Congress party that secured 99 seats in the recent general elections needs to ‘understand that their added up tally in three of the previous general elections is less than that of the BJP’s tally in the 2024 elections. He went further to say, ‘Add up their 99 in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, their 56 in 2019 and 42 in 201

The BJP that contested the recently conducted general elections has garnered 240 seats, making it the largest party. However, the party was a mere 34 short of a clear majority mark of 272 in the 543-member Lok Sabha, forcing the formation of the next government with the help of allies TDP and JD(U).

While appreciating Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Scindia remarked that the PM has laid down ‘unparalleled standards’ for others to follow and elaborated that ‘India will indeed advance in the higher echelon of the world under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi’.
