The latest unpleasant feature of this episode is that another case of sexual harassment has also been filed against Independent JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna at the Holenarasipura police station in Hassan District on September 12. The recent one has been filed by someone who is very much associated with Revanna. The act reveals that people are not the only ones now targeting the powerful political personage.
In a way, Revanna’s aide had registered a complaint on behalf of the MLC against a JDS worker; it seems like the MLC has been protected. But the scenario has changed now, as the police have considered the new complaint and have started the proceedings against Revanna.
The first offense of sexual harassment that was reported against Revanna occurred on Saturday night, and he was arrested the next day. He was sent to 14 days of judicial custody, and on Monday court asked him to be taken to police custody for eight days.
“Yes the second FIR has been registered. The process is on against Suraj Revanna said a senior police officer from Hassan.”
It is worth mentioning that Suraj Revanna, a doctor by profession, is in the limelight as he is the grandson of former Prime Minister and JDS’ political head HD Deve Gowda and the nephew of district MLA HD Revanna. He is also the brother of Mr Prajwal Revanna, the MPC Hassan, who is in police remand for sexually assaulting women and recording the incidences.
Still, the troubles do not end with the Revanna family of Karnataka state. HD Revanna, father of Suraj and Prajwal, along with Bhavani, have also been arrested on another case of kidnapping a woman who was involved in the leakage of the clips after several women were sexually assaulted, allegedly by Prajwal.
Prajwal, it is pertinent to note, however, contested the 2024 Lok Sabha on the NDA ticket, having allied with the BJP this was in September last year, which is now raising a lot of concern.
