Shocking revelations in Pune Porsche crash case involving teen

Pune Police on Friday revealed shocking details in the Porsche crash case in which a teenager was accused of driving the ₹2.5 crore electric supercar in an inebriated condition and killing two people. The shocking part that came out was many family members of the accused too were intoxicated and allegedly tried to bribe doctors at Sassoon Hospital to replace the blood samples of the boy with their own.

The blood samples were to be drawn from the father or brother of the boy, but both were found drunk. So, a blood sample of the mother was used, and she has been arrested ever since. In an earlier video message, she had said a viral video reportedly featuring her son as fake and begged for police protection tearfully.

Eyewitness accounts described the boy as ‘highly intoxicated’ at the accident site, while his preliminary medical report showed a ‘negative’ reading for blood alcohol content. Among those arrested in the sample swap case were Dr. Ajay Taware and Dr. Shrihari Halnor, along with one staff member from the hospital and two middlemen involved in brokering the deals.

There was also an attempt to substitute the blood samples for the two minors in the car. Still, there were complications regarding mismatched blood types and one mother’s sample containing alcohol.

The accident occurred on May 19, when the teen lost control of the Porsche and hit a two-wheeler, killing 24-year-old software engineers Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta. The friends had gone out celebrating their exam results at local pubs and reportedly ran up a liquor bill of almost ₹50,000 before the crash.

Investigation so far has added corruption and culpable homicide charges against the teenager and his family.
