Shiv Kumar, who killed the NCP leader Baba Siddique in Mumbai, has reportedly confessed that he had fired six rounds from an Australian Glock pistol, out of which three had struck Siddique.

Arrested on Sunday from Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich, the shooter told the police a multi-layered crime scheme involving several SIM cards and new mobile phones before and after the killing, sources said.

Kumar also confessed that he belongs to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and revealed that all three shooters have different handlers. Sources said Dharmaraj Kashyap and Shiva’s handler was Shubham Lonkar, while Gurmel Singh’s was identified as Yasin Akhtar.

Sources close to police further shared that Shubham Lonkar was given the task of recruiting shooters along with making weapons and logistics arrangements on the instructions of Lawrence Bishnoi and Anmol.

The three shooters had planned to reconvene at the Vaishno Devi temple in Jammu and Kashmir after the October 12 murder.

Shiv Kumar was arrested while he was trying to escape to Nepal with the help of shooter Dharmaraj Kashyap’s brother, Anurag Kashyap. Four persons who had given shelter to Kumar, including Anurag Kashyap, were also arrested by Mumbai Police.

Ex-Maharashtra minister 66-year-old Baba Siddique was shot dead by three gunmen on October 12 outside the office of his son, MLA Zeeshan Siddique. The office is located in Bandra East, Mumbai.
