Supreme Court dismisses petition against caste system

Recently, the apex court of India has thrown away a petition seeking a declaration of the caste system as unconstitutional. Speaking for the PIL during the matter, the petitioner petitioned the bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud thus:

After uploading the petition, Chief Justice Chandrachud said, “The Constitution as originally drafted uses the terms Scheduled Tribes and Scheduled Castes. ” Sorry, we are not inclined to dismiss.

Such was the court’s stand in relation to the issue at hand, and some reference the constitutional provisions on caste as existing.
