Supreme Court hears petitions on NEET-UG 2024 exam controversy

More importantly, the Supreme Court of India is displacing a number of petitions associated with the allegedly rigged medical entrance examination NEET-UG 2024, which took place on May 5th. The apex court has said that a retest can be considered only where it has been demonstrated that the noble character of the examination has been compromised on a massive scale.

A Bench under the leadership of the Chief Justice of India, Hon’ble Mr Y. Chandrachud, and Justices J. B. Pardiwala and Manoj Misra started the hearing by stating that the matter “has social implications. ” The court ordered the petitioners to prove that the paper leak was systematic and encompassed the whole examination, leading to cancellation.

Presently, the Apex court is dealing with more than 40 petitions, including those related to the National Testing Agency and the NEET-UG, which have transferred several cases against the apex court to various high courts. This action is intended to prevent the emergence of numerous litigation cases and come up with a unified way of solving the matter at hand.

This hearing session is critical in determining the future of the NEET-UG 2024 exam since the Supreme Court will proceed to comprehensively investigate the allegations affecting students aspiring to be medical students in the country.
