Supreme Court rebukes Baba Ramdev over contempt case

The apex court clubbed down on Baba Ramdev while hearing a contempt case about the ‘false claims’ of Patanjali Ayurved’s medical supplements. The Justices Himah Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, who are a part of the two-judge bench, have admitted that they are disappointed at Ramdev’s conduct and criticized his “non-accountable patriotism”.

The judiciary commented that ‘Ramdev was not very pious and his faith in following the law.’ Ramdev and Balkrishna, who had also been present in court, will get one additional week to quote a statement publicly. Now, we are waiting for the hearing, which is planned for April 23.

Ramdev also promised the court for “mistakes unconditionally”, and he stressed that they would be more responsible in the future. Yet, as the law is an equal treatment of all the people, the law calls attention to the fact that the government authorities did not prohibit Ramdev from causing the breach of law.

The Supreme Court had hitherto discarded Ramdev’s apology and that of the sanyasi Acharya Balkrishna based on them acting with clear intent and defying the orders of the Court. May concern case against one Patanjali plaintiff is the Indian Medical Association (IMA).

The court pressed the government in Uttarakhand on the panel’s decision about granting a license to Patanjali products and what the officer did after that. Finally, we shall wait for more developments in the case as the His Honorable Court decides on the case of His Holiness Ramdev and his apology in court.
