Suvendu Adhikari accuses police of tampering evidence in trainee doctor’s murder case

Bengal LoP alleges evidence tampering in doctor rape-murder case.

West Bengal LoP Suvendu Adhikari has accused the local police of tampering with evidence in the August trainee doctor rape-murder case.

Adhikari’s claim came after CBI arrested Tala police station officer-in-charge Abhijit Mondal, who will be produced in court today.

In a social media post, the BJP leader stated Mondal’s arrest proved the police’s direct involvement in evidence tampering.

He alleged Kolkata police created loopholes to derail the investigation, under top officials’ close monitoring.

Adhikari also demanded Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee‘s resignation, saying she lacks moral authority. Earlier, CBI detained the medical college’s ex-principal and Mondal for delaying FIR registration in the case.

The agency accused the principal of misleading investigators and destroying evidence. As political slugfest ensues, the opposition has upped the ante over the alleged police complicity in stonewalling the probe.
