Tamil Nadu secures ₹2,666 crore U.S. investments during CM Stalin’s visit

Tamil Nadu inked MoUs worth Rs 2,666 crore with US companies during Stalin’s visit.

The Tamil Nadu government has announced securing investment agreements worth over Rs 2,600 crore with American firms during Chief Minister MK Stalin‘s ongoing US trip.

Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed in Chicago on September 9 in the presence of the Chief Minister with Jabil and Rockwell Automation.

Jabil, a Fortune 500 electronics manufacturing services player, committed a Rs 2,000 crore investment for a new unit in Tiruchirappalli, generating 5,000 jobs.

Rockwell Automation, another Fortune 500 industrial automation firm, will pump Rs 666 crore into expanding its Kanchipuram plant.

An agreement was signed with software major Autodesk to boost the skills and competitiveness of the state’s MSMEs and startups.

Industries Minister TRB Rajaa stated the Jabil MoU would be a milestone for jobs in several central Tamil Nadu districts.

So far during the visit, 14 global companies have pledged Rs 4,350 crore in investments via MoUs inked in the US. Stalin has invited more firms to consider taking the state forward as an innovation and manufacturing hub in India.

The state aims to attract foreign funding and strengthen its industrial and economic standing through these deals.
