TDP Headed for landslide victory in Andhra Pradesh local Polls

Subsequently, in the 2014 elections, the TDP had fought in 144 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha constituencies, while the BJP  fielded 6 candidates in Lok Sabha and 10 in Assembly seats.

According to the latest available data, the incumbent Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and the leader of Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) are about to form a new government with a thumping majority.

According to the Election Commission of India’s trends at 1: Within 24 hours, the TDP has won 131 of the 175 seats, while the YSRCP, led by the new chief minister, YS Jagran Mohan Reddy, has ended up with just 16 seats.

In this exercise of the undertaking of determining the sharing of seats in the local bodies among the NDA partners, the TDP had contested 144 Assembly segments and 17 Lok Sabha seats, which in turn allowed the BJP to field candidates in six Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly constituencies.

Out of the Lok Sabha seats, Jas chose 2 constituencies and 21 assembly seats for its electoral battle.

The results have emerged as a major upset for Jagran Reddy’s YSRCP party, which was projected to win the largest number of seats in 2019, with 151 making significant strides to double digits now. On the other hand, Reddy is currently being favored in his Perivenular stronghold.

Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are leading by a good margin in Bhopal and Amethi constituencies, respectively.

Till now, the EC reports suggest that ministers in the YSRCP that lag behind include RK Roji, Botch Satyanarayana, C Gopalakrishnan, S Apparatus, Ambati Rambabu, V Rajini, T Venita, Amarnath, and Azad Basha.
