Telangana lawmaker’s wife found dead in suspected suicide

Just a few days this week, a woman in Telangana was reportedly found dead in her residence that she shared with her spouse, a Congress MLA of the state, which has led authorities to conclude that the woman’s death was most likely a suicide on Friday.

In a police report on one side, the dead body of Rupa Devi, wife of M. Satyam, was found hanging in their house late Thursday night by some of the members of the family of the elected representative of Choppadandi constituency of Karimnagar district.

Police revealed that some of the findings that have been made indicate that the woman could have killed herself in what can be described as desperate measures in her quest to die because of health complications that she was suffering from, though the circumstances that led to her death are still under investigation.

“They have filed a complaint and now the police are investigating the incident to find out about all that happened,”

Said a super cop.

The sad news has sparked coverages and controversies in the political arena of Telangana; even the BC Welfare and Transport Minister of the state, Ponnam Prabhakar, has condoled to the family of the deceased.

M. Satyam is one of the most prominent personalities of the state legislative assembly, and it is simply unthinkable for him to cope with the failure of losing his wife in such a horrible manner.

Community members have been coming forward to extend their concern and condolences to the lawmaker’s family, traumatized by the incident.
