Security forces gunned down a terrorist in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday, police said. Two security personnel sustained injuries in the exchange of fire. The cordon-and-search operation was launched on Tuesday by security forces in the Choontpathri forest area of Bandipora district following an input about the presence of ultras there, the officials said.
They said a gunfight broke out as the terrorists opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated.
Acting on specific intelligence input about the presence of terrorists in the general area of Kaitsan forest, a Joint Operation by the Indian Army, @JmuKmrPolice, and @crpf_srinagar was launched in the general area of Chuntawadi Kaitsan, #Bandipora.
