Army officer from Jalandhar commits suicide in Jammu and Kashmir.
A Major from Jalandhar posted along the Akhnoor border in Jammu and Kashmir tragically ended his life, his body brought back for last rites with full military honors. Identified as Mubarak Singh Padda from Laddewali, serving in the ASC, the circumstances around his death on Thursday are being investigated.
Major Ramit Singh, who served with Padda, stated they trained with the officer previously posted in Uttarakhand, West Bengal, and the region.
Though his reasons are unclear, it’s confirmed Padda took his own life by locking himself inside and shooting. Attempts to save him at Udhampur Command Hospital failed.
The family is struggling to comprehend events, as Padda, who has been married for two years to an Air Force brother, displayed no signs of despair.
Major Ramit Singh verified Padda’s posting there as a 28 Infantry Brigade Sundarbani soldier. As a committed officer from Jalandhar, his demise at a young age shocked his battalion.
An autopsy may provide closure to mourners paying last respects to the fallen martial son of the nation.
