Meanwhile, the nation is facing controversies regarding the NEET exam. The FMGE 2024 for foreign medical graduates has begun in the country under proper security. The process is being monitored through a command centre established at the NBEMS headquarters in Delhi.
In their report, the officials revealed no problem, as the examination commenced as planned, and the content was successfully downloaded in all centres. The FMGE is one of the screening tests that Medical graduates from abroad need to take to enable them to practice in India, and these tests are conducted in 71 test centres in 50 test cities in 21 test states.
The decision to increase security measures was reached after the scandal concerning the NEET-UG examination, in which 67 students got 720/720 points. Authorities attributed this to grace marks because of wrong questions and bureaucracy issues that delayed answers, but a police investigation from Bihar exposed a paper leak.
To maintain the honesty of the FMGE, officials have used 255 appraisers, 53 faculty members as a flying squad, and 71 DGHS members to oversee 35,819 candidates writing the exam.
The command centre at NBEMS headquarters is doing this with the members of the governing body, NBEMS officials, TCS technical teams, and senior police officers. It provides on-the-spot solutions to several logistical concerns through live CCTV feeds.
