Kolkata Police Have Held One in Sexual Assault/Murder of Woman Postgraduate Trainee Doctor at State-Run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, thanks to a torn Bluetooth earphone set.
Accused is a person named Sanjay Roy who was playing the trick on outsiders, and as he used to work as a civil volunteer in the Police Welfare Board, he used to get free access to many of the departments of the hospital.
According to other sources, the reason was that its activities were very suspicious, and Roy was arrested. It emerges from the sources that Roy was known to have been harassing women within the hospital in the past.
Primetime news channel News18 cited its sources to reveal that the accused earphones were used to track him down. Surveillance camera records revealed that prior to his admission in the hospital, Roy had the Bluetooth earphones on his person, but they were not seen again when he left the hospital.
Police managed to seize the counterpart of the earphone that was ripped and, fortunately, picked up a link between the criminal and the piece of evidence. Other postgraduate trainees and female doctors also pointed out the suspect, Roy, based on the footage obtained from the CCTV cameras placed in various parts of the hospital.
The dead body of a woman, identified by the paramedical personnel of a PGT doctor and a second-year student in the chest medicine department, was found for nude in a seminar hall of the hospital on Friday. It was on Thursday night that she was on duty; her body had these marks of assault on it.
Before the girl died, the initial post-mortem confirmed the fact of sexual abuse, after which her father accused the staff of the hospital where she was treated of rape and murder.
