Tragedy at coaching center: MP alleges more missing students

After the heartbreaking incident in which three students intending to prepare for UPSC perished in a coaching center in Old Rajender Nagar, New Delhi, a Member of Parliament belonging to the Lok House, the late Pappu Yadav, leveled what many consider a sensational charge asserting that the actual numbers of missing people were between 10 to 12.

Yadav said while talking to the media,

“Not only the three students have been found dead in the coaching center, but I have the list of another six students missing following the tragedy, and I am almost sure about ten to twelve people being missing. ”

Adding to a tragic setting, the MP’s statement has posed new questions about the casualty number and the necessity of more openness in the investigation.

Yadav also found flaws in the country’s inadequate oversight of coaching institutes, stressing the need for the government to enact a law regarding that. Students feel they are not safe anywhere and are unhappy with the situation.

Students in Kota Consuming liquor and feeling unsafe, 900 students have committed suicide in Kota. Bihar has the highest number of students traveling to Bengaluru, Kota, and Delhi for studies. Most of the students who are preparing for the UPSC are from Bihar,” he said.

To elaborate on the quality of education that the MP supplied, the MP regretted that the government of Bihar has failed to accredit students to the IITs and IIMs.

People of Bihar alone pay ₹40,000 crore for their children’s education in other states, but the government has no nightmares about their safety; coaching institutes are still harassing students across the country, Yadav claimed.

On the other hand, demonstrators in Old Rajender Nagar have maintained their protest concerning families of the deceased and demanding fare disclosure, as well as an accurate number of deaths. They have also expressed concerns about the safety of libraries and study centers, mostly those located in basements.

This sad occurrence has once again raised the need and importance of monitoring and putting in place strict measures on this coaching business so that students who have faith in these coaching centers for their educational future are protected from such heinous acts or in whatever way they are involved in such mishaps.
