An accident happened on the Western Express Highway in the Dahisar suburb of Mumbai on Friday night that killed a 17-year-old boy and left two others injured. The victim – Aditya Velankar – was on a bike along with his friend Karan Rajput, 18 years old, when a speeding car knocked them down from the rear. The third friend, Piyush Shukla, was on another bike, which was parked just near the spot of the incident.
This incident resulted in nasty injuries on Karan and Aditya’s sides. Claim diagnosis from the bystanders reveals that Karan landed on the left side of the road while Aditya landed on the right side. Aditya had life-threatening head injuries; he had blood oozing from his ears and nose in this condition. The driver driving the car, speeding, left the scene shortly after causing an impact.

The Dahisar police have since filed a case under Section 106 of the Indian Penal Code for causing death by negligence and Section 281 IPC for rash or negligent acts and as per section of the Motor Vehicle Act. The police have also recovered camera footage from the accident scene to help identify the car owner and a search has been launched to arrest the driver.
