Tragic toll plaza attack in Madhya Pradesh claims lives of two employees

In Madhya Pradesh, two employees namely toll plaza, were claimed their lives by masked gunmen who fired bullets when they fell into a well and drowned. There was an accident at the Dagrai junction on the NH- 44 Federal Highway.

At around 22:00 hours on Tuesday, video cameras installed at toll booths show armed men riding on motorcycles heading that way. They entered the booth and deployed some intimidating tactics, such as damaging the computers and assaulting the toll plaza staff. The shooting, during which the criminals splashed their bullets over the skies, made the employees scamper to a neighboring field to save their lives. One of the most unbelievable accidents occurred when an employee, Mr. Srinivas Parihar from Agra, and Mr. Shivaji Kandale from Nagpur accidentally fell into an uncovered well behind the office and drowned.

The toll operators have changed contractors, which is not the same as the disputed tax. More specifically, the group of locals that previously used the loophole provided by the previous contractor were no longer considered an exception to the new contractor. This supposedly provided for the attack, which, in turn, was meant to prove a point and demoralize the new contractor.

Law enforcement agencies have raised an FIR against open police; the investigating process is going on. This is a toll tax, which implies a fee for using some roads and their infrastructure, with the proceeds going into maintaining facilities and executing repairs. The money comes to different automobiles depending on the size or kind of vehicle.
