That is why a recent alarming case of another trainee IAS officer, Puja Khedkar, who has recently been actively sharing her rather provocative actions with the public, accused a senior officer of the police of a forced release of one of her related personages from detention.
The records show that the incident occurred in early May before people started protesting against Khedkar for his vulgar conduct and bias in selecting models for his group photoshoot.
Khedkar, a 32-year-old PATW and IAS officer of the 2023 batch, threatened Navi Mumbai’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vivek Pansare, to set a transporter, Ishwar Uttarwade, who was arrested in a theft case, free.
Khedkar is said to have informed the DCP that Uttarwade was not a criminal and that the offenses of which he was accused were petty matters. However, the DCP failed to meet the request’s requirements, and Uttarwade is still under judicial detainment.
After the incident, the Navi Mumbai police registered the case and intimated the Pune collector and the home department about it. The home department then directed DCP Pansare to file a report of the alleged phone call with Chief Secretary Sujata Saunik.
One should also note here that the police were unsure whether the caller was Khedkar himself or someone in his disguise.
This latest act of Khedkar fuels other previous incidents involving her misconduct and behavior during her probation tenor. She has been said to have demanded improper things like a different office, an official car, unauthorized use of a beacon, and use of insignia in her private car –an Audi.
Worse still, Khedkar has been accused of abusing the disability aspect, and the OBC is on the list to gain the IAS placement.
The above incident in Navi Mumbai has not only aggravated Khedkar’s misdeeds but also tarnished the professionalism expected of a trainee IAS officer. While these allegations are investigated, people and the government will pay attention to the case to ensure justice prevails in cases of corrupt deeds.
