Trump victory: Opportunities and challenges for tech sector

This is from Gandhi: “India and the USA have a long-standing friendship rooted in their commitment to democratic values.” He wished Kamala Harris all the very best. Days after Donald Trump won the US presidential elections as the Republican Party and Democrat Kamala Harris conceded defeat in the polls, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi Friday wrote to Trump and Harris.

Gandhi said India and the US share a historic friendship rooted in their commitment to democratic values. “Under your leadership, we are confident that our nations will further deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest. I also hope that we will continue to work towards expanding avenues and opportunities for both Indians and Americans,” he wrote.

Under the Biden Administration, India and the United States have deepened our cooperation on issues of global importance. “Our shared commitment to democratic values will continue guiding our friendship. As Vice President, your determination to bring people together and find common ground will be remembered,” said Gandhi, conveying best wishes for her future endeavors.

After Trump’s victory in the US presidential elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday said he looked forward to renewing their “collaboration to strengthen” the strategic partnership between the two countries and “build on the successes” of Trump’s previous term between 2016 and 2020. In the evening, Modi spoke to Trump and congratulated him personally.
