The United Arab Emirates has introduced a new visa-on-arrival policy, easing entry for permanent resident card holders or those holding visas from the United States, United Kingdom, or any European Union country.

Indian citizens, including their family members, possessing an ordinary passport will be allowed into the UAE on visa on arrival at all the ports of entry. This includes:
These people also qualify for a visa upon arrival, suitable for 14 days that can be extended for the same number of days, or a visa upon arrival valid for 60 days that is not extendable, all at fees applicable under the respective UAE standards and practices.
MEA states that India and the UAE have traditionally close and friendly ties. Bilateral relations have emerged gradually since the establishment of the UAE and, from 2014 onwards, have received particular attention at the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The UAE remains the most important link between the two countries in terms of people-to-people relations because more than 3.5 million Indian nationals reside there.
India is also a significant source market for tourism to the UAE. Travel agents in the UAE welcomed the move to provide more Indian nationals with visas on arrival.
