UP man beheaded for following YouTube tantrum’s advice

The Ghaziabad Police discovered the headless body of a man in June this year. Six people were arrested over the following months, among whom two said they learnt black magic from YouTube as a means to become rich.

According to the police, four have been caught for allegedly killing a man on the instructions of two ”tantriks”, who had promised them a share of at least “Rs 50 to 60 crore” after “occurring rituals”.

Police have discovered that the two are e-rickshaw operators from Delhi and natives of Bihar. The arrested duo and two of their associates narrated to the other accused before being arrested that they came to know black magic rituals while going through YouTube and if rituals like sitting on a human skull required human beings. The police identified them as Vikas alias Parmatma, 28-year-old, Narendra, Pawan Kumar and Pankaj.

The crime dates back to June 2024, when the police recovered a headless body from a drain in Ghaziabad. An investigation was launched, and in August, two accused — Vikas Gupta (24) alias Mota and Dhananjay (25) — were arrested.

During interrogation, they said that Vikas (28), alias Parmatma, approached them to kill a person and get his skull so that it could be used for the black magic rituals. According to the police, Parmatma, who already had a bounty of Rs 25,000, was the brains behind the crime.

Mota and Dhananjay told investigators that they killed one Raju Shah (29) on Parmatma’s instructions. After that, Parmatma was arrested on Saturday, December 7.

During interrogation, Parmatma revealed that a friend had asked him to obtain the human skull on behalf of Pankaj and Pawan. Convinced that black magic would indeed make them rich, Parmatma convinced Vikas and Dhanjay by promising Rs 5 lakh to kill Raju, decapitate him and hand over the skull to Narendra.

The police recovered the skull of Raju from a drain in Ghaziabad immediately after arresting the accused. In addition to the skull, the police also recovered a sharpened animal’s skull along with other sharpened weapons and a mobile phone used in this crime.
