Indo-American – US Ambassador to India, Eric Garcetti, has lauded the Indian immigrants who have made prodigious contributions to the United States, more so in the capacity of corporate leaders.
During his speech at the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce Conference in Delhi, Garcetti jokingly pointed out the widespread perception that Americans assumed that unless one was of Indian origin, the chances of becoming a chief executive would be bleak.
Garcetti pointed out that Indians are a very influential population, as illustrated by the fact that quite a number of Indian-born immigrants run such companies as Google, Microsoft, and Starbucks. Sundar Pichai, who leads the Tech giant Google as its Chief Executive Officer from Madurai, or Satya Nadella, whose roots are in Hyderabad, India, are the current CEOs of Microsoft.
Laxman Narasimhan, a man born and raised in Pune, is slated to meet with Starbucks’ CEO. The ambassador highlighted the potent deterring impact on these organizations made by Indian immigrants as well as their positive contributions.
Similarly, the former mentioned that the USA is proud that most Indian immigrants are running Fortune 500 Companies as they got an education from the USA. This success was not achieved by the Indian professionals alone; it is also due to their parallel performance contributions in the corporate field.
In particular, Garcetti mentioned that he was aware of the worries of the parents whose children are at the internship in the United States. He wanted to reassure them that their youngsters have everything necessary for a safe and good study. Moreover, Garcetti confirmed his strong support for their well-being.
Through the ambassador’s comments, we will get an idea of how Indian immigrants have made a huge positive impact on the Indian economy and the Indo-US relationship, which would, in a way, instill a sense of pride and respect for them and their great contributions in various aspects of life.
