According to US NSA Jake Sullivan, India and the United States enjoyed the most consequential relationship of the 21st century and needed to develop a step-by-step approach toward building trust.
Outgoing US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan again spotlighted the growing bilateral cooperation between India and the United States, underlining the need to work step-by-step to build trust and describing the ties between the two countries as the most consequential of the 21st century.
Announcing a major initiative, Sullivan disclosed that Indian corporations would be stripped from the list, denying entry into the nuclear technology platform. Sullivan clarified that the two decades since former prime minister Manmohan Singh sealed the Civil Nuclear Deal with then-US president George Bush. At the same time, the two sides have yet to realize civil nuclear cooperation.
Hence, the US is finalizing the necessary steps to avoid obstructions, including removingn companies from the sanctions list. The paperwork for this step is still pending, Sullivan said at an event at IIT Delhi. A few companies who have been restricted access to nuclear tech by the US include:
