Veteran BJP leader Advani discharged from AIIMS

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mr. Lal Krishna Advani was allowed to go home yesterday afternoon from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The KNU leader had been admitted to the hospital late on Wednesday night, and he is 96 years old.

For instance, the progression of Advani’s health status has stabilized, and he was closely monitored by the Urology Department in a private ward.

Advani, who has recently received Bharat Ratna from President Smt Draupadi Murmu on 30th March 2024, has politically worked as an MP, MLA, and a Minister.

Advani was born in Karachi, Pakistan, on the 8th of November 1927 and joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) a nationalist right-wing volunteer organization, in 1942 as a Swayamsevak.

He subsequently became the BJP National President for the third term from 1986 to 1990, the Fourth term from 1993-1998, Fifth term from September 2004 to August 2005, which made him the longest-serving president of the BJP since the inception of the BJP in 1980.

Advani’s professional tenure in the Parliament was over 29 years, profile included the most important post of Home Minister as well as Deputy Prime Minister in Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s cabinet (1999-2004).

Before the inception of the 2009 general elections, Advani was probably the BJP’s PM candidate, so after the loss in the polls, he made way for Sushma Swaraj to lead as the Leader of the Opposition in the 15th Lok Sabha.

The BJP has been relieved after the party’s veteran leader was discharged from the hospital, with friends and party workers wishing him good health and hustle to participate in the county’s politics.
